Little Tips for Big Joy: Discouragement

When someone tells you you can’t do something…

You don’t just tell them you can, you actually do it. What do they know anyway? Only God really knows your full potential and what you can accomplish. Don’t let the haters get you down, even if the temporary haters are your close friends.

Remember, you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength (Philippians 4:13). Stop telling me I can’t do things, because you don’t even know me like that, bro. Well, perhaps they have known you for awhile, but they don’t know what your dreams might be or what you want to aspire to. Anyways, sad day when you just need some encouragement instead of discounting statements.

“Be assured, if you walk with Him and look to Him, and expect help from Him, He will never fail you.” –George Mueller

So…know that you can with God by your side. Know that sometimes other people don’t know what’s best for you. But most of all, know that no mountain is too high to climb when you have the Father of Creation by your side. Seriously though. Don’t worry if someone says you’d be a bad journalist or a bad dancer because I’ve been called that and worse. You can do it, not because of anything about you, but because you are in Christ.

Smile. Try. Repeat.
